The poster series is a visual response to chapters 7 and 8 within the book, The Martian by Andy Weir. The chapters express the challenges an Astronaut, Mark Watney, faces on planet Mars for food and oxygen. He builds a device that helps him travel to where ARES 4 lands every 4 years, and calls it a rover. The next chapter happens on Earth where NASA tries to find ways to communicate with Mark on Mars.
