Type II project envisioning typographic and image identity for the mythical island of Savhaiti, located off the coast of Georgia.

For this project the class was required to use the typography technique of inversion. I decided to replicate a style I have seen done multiple times in which type will be used as a mask over an image to show the background through the letters. Using a computer to do this would have been far too easy so I chose to cut the letters out of cardstock and made a wire rig to hold the mini-poster in front of my camera lens.

With a shallow depth of field and the focus set on the cutout, different blurred backgrounds allowed me to give the poster different moods.
