Munch is an animated public service announcement on the alarming food wastage issue meant for school and college going students. This animated short aims at trying to address this problem by humanising everyday favourites, giving the thought a sentimental angle and to give a different perspective to the viewer.
Everyday, billions of dollars worth of edible food is discarded by people around the world. In an age where food shortage, starvation, poverty etc are rampant in most countries, why is it that we still come across huge crates of waste food lying around at your favorite fast food joint? Why is it that most of us don't think twice before throwing away food just because we are too full?
The fast and easy availability of cheap and "tasty" food at anytime and anyplace has made us greedy and oblivious to the source of our nourishment. We seem to have forgotten that even that mushed-up goop that corporations call a burger patty used to be, at some point in its life an actual living, breathing and feeling being. It is about time we started respecting these silent crusaders who give up their lives involuntarily just to be on our plate.
