This was a project with an up and coming Maryland band. "Welcome to the Grassroots" is Fiction 20 Down's second full length album. They wanted to illustrate their grassroots style and growth on the album cover. I used coffee and tea with a paintbrush on muslin as a "work with what you've got" grassroots approach to the artwork. I also used a fine point Sharpie for some of the detail in the roots. The band used another designer for the layout work and text content.
