Wabi-Sabi Paper Promotional Book

Wabi-Sabi Paper Promotional Book
Wabi-Sabi a limited edition Neenah paper promotion book based on wabi-sabi, a Japanese aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. This book is to showcase the different types of texture, weight, and color of paper that is offered. All paper was chosen from Neenah Environment® Papers. The cover was created using regular chipboard. I strived to stay true to the core value of wabi-sabi, which is the eco-friendly, and symbiotic relationship with the imperfect, transient yet beautiful nature.

Design-wise, I left a plenty of negative space when designing each spread so that the viewer would feel comfortable and zen when reading each spread. Production-wise, for example, for the spread about pottery application of wabi-sabi, I used gold embossing powder to create the texture for kintsugi pottery. After printing each spread, I hand-bound the book using coptic stitch. I was given only two and a half weeks to create this book.
