Personal Narrative: Navigating Sciatica

My basement, where I spent the vast majority of my time while hopped up on painkillers, playing video games, surfing the web, and watching Bones. The number of tubes of Bengay I went through.. I should have bought stock in it. Photoshop digital paint.
Actually the first drawing I made; charcoal, graphite and pastels. I am told it's very comic book-y.

Cobra health insurance, once I was on disability and lost my Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Charcoal, pencil, pastel.
NSAIDs, muscle relaxers, opiates and other narcotics. I still have a bit of memory loss. Charcoal and pencils.
I went to a lot of doctors. I had a lot of tests done. It wasn't fun. A more technical drawing for the technology that ostensibly helped me out. Charcoal, pencils.
In one of my latter go-arounds with pain, it was scar tissue from a previously herniated disc, in conjunction with the disc itself, that was causing pain to lance through the sacroiliac joint and affect my left leg, locking up the hip and requiring a dangerous combination of steroids to treat it. I had one leg to stand on, as it were, and it was helped along with a cane.

Charcoal, pastel, graphite, ink.
A portrait of Dr. Ji Han, a compassionate and competent man whether he's meeting you or treating you.  Thank you, Doctor.

Charcoal, pastel, graphite.
Full spread, for scale; the "Sponsored By" illustration is version 1 of 2.
