Innocence Lost is a series of still lives I shot digitally in the studio with a strobe, atypical to how I normally approach subjects - on film and using wacky artificial light such as car headlights. This further pushes my idea that today's teens and young adults have seen a technological span that took off like a rocket, and many of us have done our absolute best to keep up with it. Besides technology, the temptations and curiosities of life come into play in adulthood. Pills and drugs try to take away our minds. Cigarettes try to take away our lungs, our health, our bodies. Childhood addictions develop into adult addictions. Gambling takes away our money and we're down to pennies like children. The child believes what it's told and in adulthood often goes back to the drawing board. Nevertheless these still lives are to remind us of the joy of the moment we are in, to never grow up too fast.
