Avant-garde fashion is experiemental and often times done with unconventional materials and constructed in innovative ways. Avant-garde designers take risks with their exaggerated designs that evolve from runway to everyday designs.
Here is the image of the dress I drew inspiration from. I recreated my own version just by looking at this one image. I had to use problem solving skills to figure out how to successfully construct the garments. These Adobe Illistrator flats show my design and the differences on all profiles, as well as the design process.
Above is the bodice and skirt that I designed and constructed out of deconstructed sombrero hats.
