Spoon River Anthology - Personal Project

This is a group of small images (average size is roughly 8 cm x 13.5 cm), all culled from the Library of Congress's immense catalog.  I was working on a personal project, experimenting with techniques and color palettes, while compiling images for what I thought might become an illustrated edition of Edgar Lee Master's Spoon River Anthology. The work is heavily influenced by the tone and structure of Richard Buckner's album "The Hill", also a project based on Spoon River.  The illustration project never reached completion.  All of the images were created using Adobe Photoshop and have been sitting on my hard drive since Spring 2011.  It's time they finally saw some light.
