This piece was created to represent the idea of hell. My interpretation of the idea gravitated towards psychological view of such a word. Because we all have different perceptions of the world around us, the idea of heaven and hell can be skewed by our experiences. The other interpretation of the theme or the images behind the word "hell" is that every human contains both positivity(in this case heaven) and negativity(in case hell) . I wanted to express this in such a way so that the viewer can see the loving and hopeful gaze of this woman, as well as her more refined interior (as seen in the jewelry she carries). This would juxtapose her horns ( what people may see her as) and her being in a place of "hell" or a negative place.
