UX & IA's profile

Mobile game - Driving competition entry. Agile project.

Project brief
Work within an agile project environment to design an html based mobile game to support the client's sponsorship of Williams F1.
UX and IA must cover the game sequence, competition entry and communications.

The objectives:
- Embody brand values through the experience
- Drive competition entries
- Drive product sales

Role
Lead UX Designer working with the Creative Director, Creative Technologist, Visual Designer, front/back end developers.

Key responsibilities
1. Plan and manage UX and IA process
2. Shape initial creative idea into a workable and viable mobile game solution
3. Create prototype, plan and run guerilla testing sessions
4. Deliver user journeys, process flows, devise information architecture (navigation structure and interface), wireframes for mobile and desktop

Lo-fi sketches to get initial ideas out on paper, and use as a discussion artefact with the project team.
I designed wireframes for the entire game experience and competition entry.
I created process flows covering the complexities arising out of the different competition stages. This was revised numerous times in line with changes with the client's marketing strategy, launch dates, corporate partnerships, and legalities of competition rules.
Last minute client changes to the competition mechanic necessitated a rework to the user journey and my request for additional tweaks to copy.
The mobile game went live in January 2016. Competition entries are now closed.
