The History of Mindshare

Mindshare is a global media agency network consisting of 7,000+ employees, in 116 offices across 86 countries and with billings in excess of US$34.5 billion.

As part of the global brand refresh, the story of Mindshare was redeveloped inline with the new visual identity and company values of speed, teamwork and provocation. This took the form of a animation and a printed book.

The short animation below narrates the story of Mindshare's history, which sees the protagonist - the cyclist, moving through various conceptual worlds that represent the scale of Mindshare's network.

To replicate the fluid animation and layered 2D format in the animation into a printed format, every double page spread was mirrored with a central laser cut page to reveal and conceal text and the cyclist. The 4-page front cover was die cut to reveal the cyclist on the inside cover.

2,000 copies of the A5 book were produced on the litho press and laser cut using one of the world first motion laser cutters housed by London print company, Screaming Colour.

The books were distributed to each of the 86 local markets around the Mindshare network and are used for promotional and marketing purposes.

The artwork has since been created into posters, ads, marketing and pitch collateral as well as backgrounds for company-wide presentations.
