Bailey's Through the Centuries Conference
2011 marked the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War. Northern Virginia Community College is located only blocks from Bailey’s Crossroads where Lincoln reviewed his troops on November 20, 1861.
To commemorate the anniversary, NVCC partnered with community organizations to host a conference, parade, costume gala and concert. Events covered the Civil War, Lincoln’s Review of the Troops, and the changing face of Bailey’s Crossroads.
NOVA Studio was engaged to produce a wide variety of materials. This design was chosen for all conference material. It is a collage with tattered edges, meant to touch on the emotions and conflict of the Civil War years.
