JC Design - Personal Branding

Self Branding

This project started out with me wanting to make a few business cards for myself.

As I struggled to come up with something unique and visually stimulating, I realised the benefit of creating an entire brand identity for myself, which could be used in my CV, website, portfolio and so on.

I've had a lot of fun doing this, taking the time to look at what inspires and influences the work I do.
Logo & Iconography

Having unsuccessfully tried out using my 3 initials (JNC) I settled on JC - two letters that balance well next to each other.

The content of the drop icon transforms depending on the platform, whether it is found on stationery, websites or social media, it takes on an element of the background. The consistent factor is that this drop represents my inspiration - the energy behind any of my work and ideas.

I got the idea of the 'propeller' from my mother(!) who at the time was writing a book about the man who built the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity (William Armstrong). In this case the icon represents the creative process that turns my inspiration into design.
