My City Terrarium
Structured, modern vegitation
I love plants.  I love that they brighten up a room, clean the air, and are something you have to give love and care to survive.

Plants grow in a naturally unruly way, which does not flow well with a modern asthetic, however.  I decided to create a very structured terrarium in which each plant has i's own rectangular space, keeping it ordered even as it grows in its natural fashion.

I call this my "City Terrarium" because it was inspired by the New York City where buildings are of different heights and styles, all tightly packed within a block, and ultimately bursting with people, who also won't be contained only by the buildings.

The container is an office organizer I purchased at Muji and I selected moss and other plants found commonly in New Jersey.  The only plants purchased for this project were the aquarium plants.
Side one: Spider plant, sand/shale scene, clover, moss.
Top view.  Succulent and water plants on side 2.
End view and close up.
