„Hogyan lehet létezni, ha nem ismerjük fel az arcokat, vagy arcot látunk ott is, ahol nincs?” (Oliver Sacks – A férfi, aki kalapnak nézte a feleségét)
The main inspiration of this project is a really serious sickness called Prosopagnosia. It means face blindness and 2.5% of the population is suffering from it all over the world. That means they don’t recognise any faces, including their own too. This was the starting point for me to make this photo series about distorted faces.

For this work I used my own ordinary environment and experimented with the portraits of my friends. It’s important to highlight that I didn’t use any digital distortion for this project. Also, I’m not trying to simulate the true vision of these sick people, I only wanted to make more understandable this process we can’t experience by putting the lack of face recognition into an artistic shape!
