Laser Etched Art for Housing Projects

I worked with Kimberly Kent Art Brokerage(KKAB) to create and produce artwork for two REACH affordable housing projects.

The first was Gilman Court, located in Portland's Gateway area. We located older architectural drawings of purposed development in the area. With approval from the City of Portland, I etched the three drawings onto cradle-wrapped birch panels and sealed the beautiful tryptich in beeswax.
The second project was The Orchards at Orenco, located in Hillsboro, OR. It is the largest Multi-Family Passive House in the country. For this project I designed and assembled two original 18" x 24"  laser-etched panels from historic photographs.

The first is the Orenco Train Station, which has 6 layers of trees and scenery and the second is the Orenco Military Band, which has three layers of trees and the band itself.
All photos by Kevin McConnell. Special thanks to Kimberly Kent Art Brokerage.
