The Feminist Manifesto

Feminism. These days it leaves a nasty taste in your mouth. When women began fighting for their freedom, it was the suffragettes. Through out time, though, those women who pioneered an incredible movement were forgotten. Second and third wave feminists were named extremists. Women had freedoms, wasn't that enough? Feminism these days is less about fighting for the right to vote and more about things like equal pay, LGBTQIA issues, people of color, and the continued fight to be viewed by the government as more than just incubators. Why are those who fight for these rights given such bad names?

The creative brief for this film was to use the word "manifesto" to create a digital/analog piece. When brainstorming, my partner Cecilia Li and I found common groud on the word "feminist". We wanted to tackle misconseptions of feminism, and paint it in a way that was informative and visually appealing, but also funny and almost crude.
