In my Information Design class we were given the task of re-designing the RIT campus map. My design uses color and shadow to highlight and separate different aspects of the map. The shadow on the buildings gives a 3D effect to highlight them away from the rest of the information without making them the dominant part of the piece. In keeping up with the times, I have added a QR code, linking the map to an online interactive map. I have also included two major campus sculptures, to help the user orient themselves as well as an icon system to quickly locate key areas of campus. This print version is meant to be around 3 feet wide, to be displayed at various points on campus, useful to both visitors and students.
