The idea of the Project was to create a Mobile based application based on the wooplr model. Wooplr is a mobile application that allows users to create a profile and upload pictures. It’s a social shopping app and has been quite popular amongst Indian users. Now, we were supposed to rebrand the app keeping in mind the concept of the brand. Now, in terms of rebranding we were asked to think of a new Name, logo, Tagline and mediums of representation that included visual Identity.
Our first task was to come up with a unique name. While looking at various word associations of shopping and style, we stumbled upon various emotions attached to shopping and style. Obvious words such as joy, happiness, content etc came up but to our surprise even words such as jealousy, envy, selfish were present. That was an eye opener. It made us realize that while shopping and personal style is associated with joy and happiness, there are also elements of deceit and slyness involved. We realized people go to surprising lengths to get what they want. That's where 'foxy' comes from.
Font used is called Vonique-64. The font was manipulated in the final logo.
Icon Development:
Since it was a mobile app, we needed to come up with an icon. We started off with a flat sketch, but it didn't have a certain joie de vivre. Next we started looking at low poly and started making the icon. The result was pleasing enough. We have used a total of five colors in the icons. But something was still missing.
We realized that we need to communicate the fact that it is also a social shopping application. Hence we decided to add a nice pair of glasses with a price tag.
Up Next----> THE LOGO.
The 'o' in foxy was replaced by the icon. We have used a typeface called Vonique 64. Minor adjustments were done to the typeface. The biggest manipulation was the tail that was added to the letter 'y'. The letters are in a soild black while the tail has a gradient.
App Mock Ups:
The opening interface of the app would feature a map of the world and the Foxy logo.
This is the UI of the app. We have replaced the love/like button with a 'paw print'.

Development of Emoticons for the app:
As a part of branding and visual identity we decided to come up with a set of emoticons. The initial emoticons had issues with the look and the entire feel. Plus issues with color and visibility were present. We had to create emoticons keeping in mind the color palette. These initial series are in strict compliance with the color palette. This series was scrapped.
These are the final set of emoticons that were developed. We have inversed the colors and small outline has been added to get the look and feel right.
