And so it begins, this is the first of a series of drawings that will incorporate abstractions made with a broom. Inspired by working in the service industry for more than a decade (the same amount of time that I've pursued being an artist). The broom works as a symbol of respect for manual labor and what hard gritty work teaches you about the reality of life. I also mean to highlight those who have had to push a broom around to make a dollar despite their talents and aspirations. The story I will tell with this series will be personal but also societal. So to start it all off here is a depiction of Auguste Rodin's "The Thinker".
