UNDER GOD
The concept of this poster design was to illustrate the manipulation and control the power of organized religion can have,
specifically the power of Christianity has over the republican following. It has quite a few meanings, and can be percieved very differently depending upon who views it.
Me personally? I started this idea as a way to illustrate the evangelical doctrine that is heavily and
manipulatively taught to children growing up in the midwest/southern United States. Children shouldnt be completely blinded from birth and not have the freedom of choice in belief, no matter what religion you're forcing down their throat.

The concept was to illustrate an image of cleanlines and holy aesthetic and order to be manipulating and "puppeting" something
organic, innocent, and alive. The image of the marionette puppet is stylized to look like it's carved out of wood, and it's nature is juxtapozed with the cross looming over it. So the elephant can't think on it's own, or move from under it's strings. The puppet i thought was also a good visual for representing the enforced doctrine on children aspect of the idea, as some people might see it as resembling a mobile over a child. It's all relative to a main central idea of religous control.
Thank you!
