A story of friendship and how even the best of friends can't always play together
Now do I truly understand what's a project of love... and labour. And how when they come together, it can become magical. It's a project done together with a colleague (who became a friend) and was made possible only through a series of coincidences. The story was written almost three years ago when my colleague took inspiration from my boss who was wearing a different animal tie each day for the entire work trip. He jotted "Turtle. Kangaroo. Dolphin" which was subsequently to become the key characters of the story. Not until nine months ago did I first get to see the story and that was it. We hit off right away (I can draw but can't write and he's the exact opposite) and decided this is something we can work together. The story felt close to heart and it had a universal theme. Relationships and friendships matter and they do more so than before when you've fewer of them as you grow older but the ones you kept in touch with are the ones that really matter. And somewhere, sometimes in your life, you found yourself wondering, "Do my friends like me better? Or do they prefer the company of others? Why didn't they ask me along?" And hopefully, you'll be able to laugh it off and say it's like Kangaroo, Turtle and Dolphin... even the best of friends can't play together at all times. xx, S
