Custom wedding invitations are a huge trend right now in wedding design. Currently it is legal for all couples, same-sex included, to get married. This project was created to showcase wedding invitations for three different couples who have recently gotten engaged. All three couples planned a rustic southern wedding so these invitations are their own interpretations of the theme. The invitations include a marriage between a man and a woman, a marriage between two men, and a marriage between two women.

 

All calligraphy and watercolor is done by hand. The paper used is a thick, textured paper which gives a nice, tactile, and textured look to the watercolor sketches. Some of the invitations are decorated with gold foiling, all applied by hand. The decorative paper also adds element to the invitations.

 

In the photos of the project, deer antlers, gemstones, flowers, Polaroid photos are applied to each composition to give off a feeling of the weddings.
