Seven Sunny Days is a gift-based week of happiness that you can send to a loved one. Wherever you are, and whoever you are, Seven Sunny Days allows you to bring sunshine to the people you love. Seven Sunny Days is a conceptual design solution aimed at using traditional mail and a packaging experience to bring happiness to a loved one who needs it.

This project was lovingly handcrafted from start to finish, everything from concept, branding, packaging, copywriting, web design, photography and layout design was created to work consistently within the context of the brand. The brand is designed for women 18-40, with millennial trends in mind.

Who couldn't use a little more sunshine?
This is the Seven Sunny Days box as it would arrive in the mail.

When the box is originally oppened, the inside of the lid features the logo's sun icon as a pattern. The customer is greated by an information card that explains the purpose of Seven Sunny Days, and explains how to use the boxes.
This is the front of the main box's interior showing the array of the seven daily boxes.
Here is what the seven boxes look like by themselves. Featuring the blue blurry image on the sides.
The first Sunny Day gift is a rubber ducky. Below is the body copy that accompanies it inside of the 3"x3" info card.
---
Today’s sunshine is in the form of a rubber ducky. Remember your childhood bath times and all of the suds-filled moments of solace you’ve had over your life.

After naming your ducky, use them as a companion for a bath or any much-deserved “you-time.” Take a moment free of distraction and focus on the sweeter things in life. Treat yourself to a personal indulgence and keep it to yourself—no tweets, no snapchats, a simple sunny moment alone. Get caught up on that sitcom you love. Do a crossword puzzle. Anything to let the sunshine in. Stay Sunny!
The second Sunny Day gift is Starbursts—one bag for you and one bag for a friend so that you can share them and share a sunny moment as well. Below is the body copy that accompanies it inside of the 3"x3" info card.
---
Starburst are an explosion of flavor and even happiness. And while they don’t taste  any different when enjoyed with a friend, happiness doesn’t work the same way.

Today your sunshine is split into two bags so that you may share it with someone who brings sunshine into your life. Don’t just hand them the bag, though! As you share your special treat, also share a moment together. Stay Sunny!
The third Sunny Day gift is a pouch of sunflower seeds for planting. Below is the body copy that accompanies it inside of the 3"x3" info card.
---
Sunshine literally breathes life into our world. It gives life to plants that give life to us. Sunflowers are a beautiful testament to the power of sunshine.

Today your sunshine is in the form of sunflower seeds so that you can tangibly see the growth that sunshine brings. Plant these seeds somewhere where you will see them as a reminder of sunny days and personal betterment. Stay Sunny!
This is a detail shot of the pouch design. The pouches used throughout this project are handcut, folded, and sewed for a personal touch. They are made from a translucent tracing paper so that the objects inside are slightly visible.
The fourth Sunny Day gift is a pineapple scented candle and a branded Seven Sunny Days lighter. Below is the body copy that accompanies it inside of the 3"x3" info card.
---
A candle is a beacon of sunshine even in the darkness of night. Candles have been around for thousands of years and have long been a symbol of hope and illumination.

Today your sunshine is in the form of a candle as a reminder to let your sun-shine be visible and shine even in less-than sunny situations. When you light your candle, think of the ways your sunshine can eradicate the darkness in your life and the lives of others. Stay Sunny!
This is a detail shot of the candle and lighter label branding solutions. Here the word "Sunny" from the logotype is used to give the lighter a friendly, happy vibe instead of the innate edgyesque quality lighters have innately.
The fifth Sunny Day gift is a pouch of Band-Aids. Below is the body copy that accompanies it inside of the 3"x3" info card.
---
Band-Aids are where healing begins. When life send you scrapes and scratches to test your patience, Band-Aids are ready on the sidelines to fix you right back up.

Today your sunshine is in the form of Band-Aids just incase something tries to attack your sunshine in the future. Keep these in your purse to defend yourself from paper-cuts, minor scratches, and life’s occassional unwanted cloud. Stay Sunny!
The sixth Sunny Day gift is a pouch of white mango flavored green tea. Below is the body copy that accompanies it inside of the 3"x3" info card.
---
For centuries tea has symbolized enlightenment. Even on the rainiest, gloomiest days, a warm cup of tea can be a little cup of sunshine.

Today your sunshine is white mango peach flavored green tea. Treat yourself to a cup at some point in time when you need to slow down the chaos of life. The calming properties of tea can bring you a May picnic even in the ice of winter. Stay Sunny!
The seventh Sunny Day gift is a bottle of blowing bubble juice. Below is the body copy that accompanies it inside of the 3"x3" info card.
---
Bubbles are like little pockets of joy. They float through the air and ascend to the sun, entertaining and giving joy to any and every onlooker.

For your final sunny day, your sunshine is in the form of bubbles. Let them float around and watch their carefree spirit. As your Seven Sunny Days come to a close, try to carry the whimsy and joy of bubbles into the rest of your life. It’s been a pleasure shining with you. Stay Sunny!
This is a detail shot of the bubble bottle's label design.
Here are all seven of the Seven Sunny Days gift items together. If this conceptual project were to scale, It would hopefuly expand the line of gifts so that people could recieve a different seven sunny items every time they got a box. Hopefully that would allow a level of customization that would let the buyer be more involved in the gift so that it could feel personal to the recipient of the product.
I created a 32 page booklet about the brand including the concept development, sketches, the website, and the process of Seven Sunny Days from start to finish.
Essentially the mold that this project fit into was a branding and packaging concept that was intended to fit into the millennial landscape of people who care about connections between friends and family, technological advances, and good design.
The logo type is handmade, with handlettering for the "Sunny" script that was refined in illustrator.
The brand revolves around the concept of happiness. The fonts are playful, the colors are bright, and the logo balances modern and fun with mono-width strokes and a strong diagonal angle. This page layout is also consistent with the branding, which uses the blurry blue background throughout.
The strong 65 degree diagonal of the logo mark is the same diagonal used in the logo type as a way of unifying them despite their very different styles.
A website is a cornerstone to any brand in today's day and age. Especially mail order type products rely on digital interfaces to communicate with customers. I designed a custom website in Adobe Muse to facilitate the ordering of the Seven Sunny Days product and to showcase the product photography.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this. This is the end of my project page and I'm so excited to share it with all of you. This project was created over the course of five weeks and it is my hope that this work, while conceptual in nature, genuinely leaves you with a little bit of happy in your real life. Thank you and stay sunny!
