Campus Map Redesign

A redesign of the RIT campus map. The particular iteration of the map that is featured here was designed and is primarily used in by Alumni Relations office at RIT. Many Alumni come back to visit the RIT campus for the first time in many years. Since so much has changed and there are a lot of new things on the RIT campus, this version of the design focuses on making major landmarks on primarily the academic side of campus accessible and easy to understand.
The redesign primarily focused on highlighting the main pathways that alumni might take to get from building to building, as well as simplifying the shapes of buildings, and highlighting eateries and major landmarks, such as popular buildings and major parking lots.
We also highlighted Park Point and Global Village, which are higher concentrated areas of places to find food and shopping on RIT's campus. These are things that alumni are constantly seeking.
The RIT Campus Map before the redesign. I really focused on picking out the most relevant information, as well as simplifying walkways and buildings.
