Drentse Uitmaand campaign 2015 illustrations

I made a series of illustrations for the campaign of the Drentse Uitmaand, a recurring event happening in Drenthe in September to celebrate all kinds of cultural events and activities taking place in the province.
These illustrations were used on the posters, flyers, website and social media.

I got a lot of freedom with this, so in my first sketches I drew a lot of different personalities and characters that you could meet when going to one of these events. Dancers, singers, jugglers, actors, living statues...this was accepted very quickly and I was asked to create more characters soon after, the bunny holding the accordion even became the mascot of the campaign!

Drenthe is famous for its beautiful nature with hunebeds and moorland, sheep folds and shepherds, so the illustrations had to reflect all of that too in some kind of way. In the end it all came together nicely and the client was very happy!

The end result of the poster. ( Note that I did not do the design work, this was done by another studio )
There was a lot of promotional material, like these flags!
A few examples of the flyers.
I also did an interview with a local Dutch newspaper about the illustrations I made for the campaign.
