A New Way of Looking: Experience Within Narrative Structure
In order to fully experience a narrative one must understand that its structure is what defines its experience. The structure can be manipulated to give the reader multiple experiences within a single narrative. It is this multi-level experience that defines narrative within the digital generation.
Project: The dissection of an epistolary novel.
My thesis involved the examination and dissection of narrative form in order to determine the structures within narrative transmission and adaptation.
After completing my research I was able to propose that a new form of narrative transmission be created, that embodies the efficiencies of both physical narrative and digital narrative creation. My demo displays how an experience of a narrative can be created that could be utilized for educational purposes, in order to show individuals how an experience can be heightened or extended through the exploration of a narrative’s given structure.
