I made 200 illustrations ( including 8 posters ) for Speel je Wijs, written and invented by Irma Smegen, a learning method for young children that teaches words by playing and working with theater. I was asked to illustrate 200 words that are used in this method, ranging from 'family' to 'camping' and many more.
This was a huge project to work on and it took a lot of time, but it was a great experience. I had a lot of fun creating all the different characters and thinking of creative ways to portray all the words. Here you will find a selection of some of my favorite illustrations, as it was quite impossible to post them all!

After the book was published, there were already ideas of bringing the lessons and illustrations to an online platform.
And so it happened, in 2015 Speel je Wijs online was born! Here teachers can create and personalize their own lessons and all the illustrations can be sought after with a handy search function.
