Hand Picked Villas Website

We were approached by the owners of Hand Picked Hotels to design an identity and website for a new bespoke business – Hand Picked Villas. While my colleague designed the logo, I was tasked with designing the website – the clients supplied fantastic photos of the high-end properties and I wanted them to take centre stage in the layout.

The homepage is set as a fullscreen image with the logo and caption overlaid in the centre, the user can click through teaser images while the navigation bar sits at the bottom of the screen or they can scroll down to reveal an introduction to the site and thumbnails of the property locations, at this point the fullscreen images is condensed into a header format and the navigation bar moves up the page to take a more prominent position on the screen. The nav bar displays four locations and has a drop down menu feature for locations with more than one property, which offers more details and an image of each one. The location/villa section are colour coded to compliment the images provided.

Once the user has clicked on a section the page has it's own menu bar to the right of the introduction text for quick navigation to other pages within that section. There is a feature gallery for each property which can be expanded or condensed with ease, offering the user an engaging layout of beautiful images which contrast the large fullscreen headers.
