This was my Graded Unit project for the 2nd year of my HND at Edinburgh College. It was a rebranding project I done for my friend Georgina who is a long established Edinburgh-based hairdresser. Georgina has managed many salons across Edinburgh and decided to go it alone a few years back. She works as a mobile hairdresser and has a large client base across Edinburgh & the Lothians who consist mainly of females aged between 18 to 45. We discussed colour schemes and general style and decided to go for something simple and sophisticated with a modern colour scheme, adding a vintage twist to the overall look so that it would appeal to a wider audience.
The image on the left is the colour scheme we chose. Each colour was incorporated into the the logo on the right.

As well as designing the logo and business cards, I decided to design a poster too. As most of Georgina's clients are female, I opted to draw the face of a female in Adobe Illustrator. I simplified the drawing as I wanted to animate the hair. Most sections of the hair were seperated into individual Ai files so I could animate them later in After Effects. I also decided to give her a 1950's vintage look so that both the illustration and poster tied in with the overall style of the project.
