This midterm project for Philadelphia University's course, Problem Solving, was about selecting an art piece from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and constructing a headpiece and matching clutch inspired by the student's selection using unconventional materials.
Salvador Dali's "Soft Construction with Boiled Beans (Premonition of Civil War)" shows the creature's war against itself, representing civil war. I striveded to capture the uneasiness of both the painting and the subject matter by the asymmetric shape, material use, and over-all look.
To complete the pieces, I used: chicken bones, floral wire, wire mesh, rose petals, and hot glue drippings.
