Positive Social Norms Campaign Marketing Design

CPACS is the first organization to implement the Positive Social Norms campaign in six different languages in the Southeast region. CPACS and Georgia Team Empowerment (GATE) coalition are the only ones reaching the AAPI and Latino communities in bringing prevention to immigrants and refugee communities. The Positive Social Norms (PSN) Project informs a specific community about the norms of that specific community with the hope of encouraging adults to have conversations with their children or others in the community about what is normal for that community. Social norms can play the role in promoting the positive development of people.

GATE conducted the survey in 2014 to find out what morals are normal in the community. Then, the messages were developed based on the result of the survey. The first three communities to participate are Spanish, Nepali, and Burmese. The next phase is Vietnamese, Chinese, and Korean. A series of 3 posters in darkening variations of color were placed in the respective communities for a period of 9 months. Fabric grocery bags were printed with the messages and distributed throughout the communities.
