Grade 10 GRAR2G Topic: Shoe Design
For this project we had to create a shoe for a company. We had to create our shoe with our own creative mines. For this project you had to have colour, originality and at least 2 elements of design. I based my shoe off of a video game I play alot at home. My shoe was based on a game call Destiny The Taken King. We also had to create a rough draft before we start doing the real thing.
Grade 10 GRAR2G Topic: Magazine Value Study
For this project we had to use a magazine or a comic book, and find a picture of someone and cut it in halve. Then we had to put one of the halves on a blank piece of paper. After that we had to draw a reflection of the picture. So pretty much a reflection. For this project we had to use value, contrast and texture. Value is the relative lightness or darkness of a colour. Contrast is which value seperates objects in space. Texture is surface quality and with a variety of messages and emotions
Grade 10 GRAR2G Topic: Movie Poster Project
For this project we used the pen tool to create smooth edges when our faces are attached to the movie poster. While doing this project we had to do four task to get full marks. The four tasks were unity, balance, colour/texture and use of the pen tool. We had to take a picture of our faces with the right angle and lighting. We had to do this because it depends on the movie poster you chose for your face. After doing all the steps you have to make sure that your face is contrasted with the movie poster.
GRAR2G Grade 10 topic: Photoshop- using layers and the lasso tool to colour super heros/comics
For this project we had to use photoshop to colour in the super heros. But first, we had to go on the internet and find the picture in colour already. After that, we had to go to photoshop and turn the coloured picture into black and white. Then we had to create three layers and rename them as low, mid and high tones. We had to do this becuase the real picture had some low, mid and high colours. For the black and white version of this picture we had to re-colour everything using the layers that we created. Most of the time we would use the lasso tool to fill in mid tones which are flat, before adding shadows which are low tones and highlights which are high tones.
GRAR2G Grade 10 topic: Photo Manipulation Photoshop: using various effects(colour/destruction/texture/opacity) to create zombies
For this project we had zombies of our selves for Halloween. This projct we had to take a picture of our selves and then transfer the picture of ourselves to photoshop. We had to use our photoshop skills that we learned from the past. There were no rules to creating yourself into a zombie. We had to go on google and search for tree bark pictures or raw meat pictures for our skin. After that we go to photoshop and create layers placing the pictures we found on the internet. We created layers so we can place the textures on our faces to create that rough and dry texture look. The main task for this project was contrast, variety, colour/texture and the use of layers.
GRAR2G Grade 10 topic: adobe illustrator- using vector design software to create business logos
For this project we had to create our own buisness and create a logo design for it. We had to sketch 5 different logos with colours on a blank piece of paper. After you were done that we had to recreate our logo design in adobe illustrator. We also had to create a paragraph describing our buisness and also the logo design we created for our buisness. After all of that we had to save it as a a.i file into a usb stick to had in to the teacher for marks.
GRAR2G Grade 10 topic: Sisler Apparel
For this project we had to sketch at least 5 different logo designs for the Sisler store. For the final copy of your logo you had to do the final copy on illustrator. Then after you were done doing your final logo design, you had to put your logo design on 3 different apparels. For example t-shirts,sweaters,socks and joggers. After doing all of that, we had to create a paragraph explaining how our logo design communitcates a message. We also had to explain/disscus the colour, font and image size.
GRAR2G Grade 10 topic: Adobe illustrator- using vector design software to create sisler store advertising to promote items created in the last project.
For this project we had to create at least 5 different ads on a blank piece of paper with colour. The rough draft doesnt have to be colored only the good copy on illustrator or photoshop. When you were done your rough copy you had to go to illustrator or photoshop for the final copy. After that we all had to create a paragraph that explains your own design chioces which discusses colour, font, and image choices. You also have to explain how your advertisement communicates the message. After all of that save your project onto a usb for 40 marks.
GRAR2G Grade 10 topic: Cartoon Character Design
For this project we had to create our very own character design in illustrator. First we had to create our own character on a blank piece of paper as our rough draft. We had to create at least 5 different charcters designs before we start the good copy on the computer. We had to scan our rough copy onto a computer and save it onto a USB. After that we did the final copy in illustrator with colour. To do your final copy on illustrator you have to draw over your scanned character design.
