SILVERWOOD
The design of Silverwood lamp combines wood and aluminum with a modern, concise style. To achieve energy-efficiency, the LED on this lamp can save more energy and perform longer life. Touch sensor switch is also installed under the aluminum part, which allows users to turn on/off the lamp by simply tapping. Two USB charging ports are installed on both sides of the lamp so it doesn't matter the users are right-handed or left-handed.
Concept
The concept of the design is inspired by modern architectures in an energy efficient, natural environment. In these pictures, we realized that the combination of natural and artificial material could work beautifully.
Less Is More
Our team developed a simple, elegant design that integrates all of our desired features. The utilization of LED along with the unibody form gives off a modern feel.
Quick Mock Ups
Before we made our final prototype, we used foams to make quick muck-ups in different dimensions to see the proportions of the shape.
