    THE PROJECT
     
    Using a topic of choice, the objective of this assignment is to develop an independent project showing proficiency with the designer’s role in visualizing complex projects across multiple media. This is achieved by independent exploration using professional design methods and strategies of problem-solving through research, concept generation, and design development.
     

    THE EVENT
     
    Anomaly is an annual independent science-fiction film festival. Like many film festivals, new and retrospective films will be shown, and viewers from all over the country will travel to attend the event. Viewers of all ages are welcome, and attendees will include film critics, families, and die-hard sci-fi fans with a young-adult skew.

    IDENTITY
  • Science fiction and its fans both embrace creative, quirky, and abnormal scenarios. In order to communicate this, the branding focused on presenting aberration in the form of distortion – particularly computer distortion of data and image. The program was designed as a dynamic identity to show a breadth of distortion, as well as the idea that film, as a living medium, transforms over time.
