GE Link is a smart light bulb that gives a flexibility of controlling the light remotely from a smartphone. The objective was to design a packaging that would be functional and efficient, yet unique enough to stand out on the shelf amongst other light bulb brands.
Since the smart light bulb is more energy efficient than traditional light bulbs, the idea was to utilize minimum materials for the packaging. The unusual structure uses minimum adhesive and is made of thick stock in order to secure the bulb. It is easy to transport, assemble and disassemble. The final design employs a palette of bright fluorescent colors juxtaposed against the cement gray stock.
