Weather App Concept for Toddlers

The Outside weather app concept was created with toddlers and learning in mind.

One thing my kids can tell you about me is that I like to "turn things around" and make learning or doing a chore fun. I found that if I turn things into games, they were more willing and enjoyed doing the task at hand.

This app was thought out with the same idea - to "turn things around."

The interactive app has a goal to teach toddlers what type of clothing is appropriate for the current weather conditions. This is done in the form of a game.

This first image shows what the screens will look like. The home screen has all the basic information related to the current weather. If the child wants to play, they just click on the orange t-shirt the begin.
Sketches of the layout and text that would appear on each screen.
Concept ideas of the personality of the seasons and the colors. The mascot was actually purchased since he was so perfect for the project.
The final view of the screens.
If the child wants to play, they just click on the orange t-shirt the begin. The first screen shows the bear asking "What should I wear?" if the child clicks on the wrong answer, they get an "Uh-oh! Try again." and it returns to the first screen. When the child answers with the correct answer, they get a "great job" reply.
