Part of my work involved working with Dr Vanin, a forensic entomologist who teaches at Huddersfield University. As part of that process I created a rissograph poster that outlined the path of my research.
I wanted to echo the scientific visual language of a lab environment, with that in mind I created a square poster that looked like a contrast sheet. These sheets are placed under a microscope so you can better see transparent or light parts of an insect.
On The back of my poster I laid out my methodologies, linked each step to a development stage of a fly. The poster must be rotated to read the next step, which links back to the idea of a life cycle where despite the steps being numbered it doesn’t have a clear beginning or end.
