I was so flattered when my friends, India & John, approached me to design all of the assets for their astronomically themed wedding.

CHALLENGE
To create a full branding system and print design system from 3,000 miles apart (they were in Boston, I was in Portland). I had to inform the client and project lead about production terms and process in order to make the assets come out as we intended. Without any test prints or print samples for hundreds of copies of each deliverable, this was a bit challenging.

CONCEPT
Utilizing the stars and constellations, we created all of the assets to reflect the sky converging with their affection.

SOLUTION
I hand-painted all of the backgrounds of the night sky using various mixed medias interlaced with digital paintings and edits. The canvas was created much larger than any assets shows in order to make sure no two backgrounds repeated. All of the headers were a hand-written calligraphic script and style created specifically for this wedding. Utilizing a beautiful array of deep teals, blues, and purples, the extending printed assets such as the envelopes and crinkle paper enhanced the vibrantly painted designs. To balance the entire suite, very light complementary components were used such as a white washed wood and white table cloths. This also accented the bright light of the stars in the sky, as well as the couple's eyes for one another.
