Integrated Model for Academia-Industry

Project Title
Integrated Model for Academia-Industry Collaborative Research | System Approach to Design

Project Duration
Jan 2015 – April 2015

Project Guide
Prof. Pratul.Ch. Kalita , Asst. Prof. IIT Guwahati

The aim of the project is to make research literature much more valuable and implementable. In 2014, roughly 2.2 million research papers were published around the world but only 18% have had scientific output/ industrial use. A need and possibility of utilizing more of these research publication was explored in this project. After extensive research and understanding the complex nature of R&D, I was able to suggest an online portal for research enthusiasts to consult, discuss and collaborate with industries. Essentially, it aimed at presenting peer reviewed research with potential market application in a way that it makes sense to industries, act as a catalyst for initiating the project and then provide an easy platform for its completion.

How it Works?
Researchers will share their previous and present research, tag them according to potential practical applications and relevant industries, view the trending research relevant to him in his newsfeed and discuss it with peers. He will also be able to promote a research if he/she feels it is worth practical implementation. Students/Professionals will be able to view, discuss, promote and show their interest to work on these projects whereas Industries will have an option to commission the trending research projects or upload their own. They will also be able to pledge a specific amount to the project for shared collaborations. Also, they will be able to use our own project collaboration tool throughout the project to set deadlines and protect all confidential data
