Final Year Project - Architecture

After analyzing the site topography and access above, certain features were integrated into the design strategy in order for the residential development to be contextual.

After analyzing the massing studies above, the concluded massing proposal is shown above in the mass shown for the climate studies. Deciding factors were allowing visibility from both the lower and the upper level into the project in a continuous manner.
Light and wind studies were done in order to ensure that all living spaces receive natural light and the intersection of the masses are porous to allow wind circulation.

The diagrams above show the proposed intervention which will allows the project to act as a traversal stitch.

The above proposed mass/void diagram describes a mix of massing typologies between industrial and residential on a slope. The black part is the public part which is porous to allow continuity to the rights of passage and is accessed from the main road. The grey part is the private residential, which also includes open/green spaces for the residents and is ideally accessed from the top. The blocks intricate connection between levels is translated into the massing of the project.
