This was a project for my Graphic Design Media Management class. We came up with our own movie concept and title, and were required to take all photographs ourselves. I took inspiration from Magritte in adding a few surrealistic elements. If you're familiar with Leonard Cohen, you'll know that's entirely appropriate.
Leonard Cohen was a singer/songwriter who disappeared for 15 years due to stage fright—a side of him his fans never saw. He went back on the road after being betrayed by his manager and needing money. In his travels, he often drew pictures of his surroundings. “Famous Blue Raincoat” is one of his most famous songs. It tells a story that’s reflected in this composite image, reminiscent of a postcard from the road.
