A.I.S.A.C. UPGRADE by CLRDoorMB

I worked on the graduation thesis of a Fashion Design student, Marina Battistin (clrdoormb.blogspot.it/)
I first designed the logo of her clothing brand, CLRDoorMB, then proceeded to shoot all her collection.
For her lookbook I wrote also a dystopic photo-story, in which all models wear her futuristic creations.
In this world there are two factions at war:
the fascist, totaliarian government of the machines and the human rebels, trying to take back the world.
My story starts where the girl, offspawn of the elite, falls in love with the leader rebel, which charms her into betraying her side.
But nothing is as it seems...
This is obviously the first step: shooting. Using a black paper background gives me the neutral/dark setting that I need in post-production.
I shoot in portrait orientation to get the most possible definition from my camera sensor, adding extra space later if needed.
I extend the background to get the landscape orientation I need. Then, using stock imaging, I start building the background, manipulating objects to give a believable perspective.
When backgrounds are in place and properly masked, I start color-grading and tweaking curves and saturation levels. In this case, a triangular-shape-masked curve will give me a nice hotspot, as if a torchlight was pointed from above on my model.
When everyting is in place, I add text, trying to use typography as another photoshop tool, merging the glyphs so that the result is visually pleasant.
