Captain Lawrence Brewing Company
Bottle Label Redesign
A small brewery from upstate New York was looking to branch out to in-store sales and needed a new look for their bottles. The brewery was named after the street the owner had brewed his first beer on. So I began by researching who Capt. Lawrence was.

I found out he was a Naval Captain during the War of 1812, famous for saying with his dying breathe after being wounded in battle on the high seas, "Don't give up the ship." This line became a nautical battle cry and is even used by today's Navy. I made the bottle a tribute to the history of its namesake.

I also included the flag lettering system used on the open ocean. Each flag represents a letter. So this is a way to hide messages for people to decode on each bottle. This bottle's message says, "This is the best beer in the world. You can run and tell that homeboy."
