Alpha is the first LCD TV set in the history of this iconic brand and it represented an extremely stimulating challenge. Respecting the legacy of Masters like Zanuso, Sapper, Castiglioni, Bellini, but at the same time following a new path,Valerio dug into the brand’s DNA an avoided mimicking the shape of the old and legendary products. Cometti and his team tried to inject into Alpha real Brionvega values: lateral thinking, an authentic dialogue between form and function and a long lasting aesthetic appeal. Therefore, Cometti rejected the idea of “flat” TV, given that compact LCD TV sets are always positioned on top of bulky pedestals and, together with his team, he developed a distinctive design that uses the thirddimension to offer improved performances: in the horizontal volume there is the DVD player, the electronic board and superior quality audio components.The two volumes are joined by a frame made of welded and chromed steeltubes, inside which the cables run, like veins in the human body. Also visually the frame is a very important element, echoing immortal furnishing masterpieces from the ‘30s.
The same attention has been poured into the remote control, no longer a humble and often neglected functional device, but a highly recognisable piece of Brionvega design.
