Destroyed, Distorted, Disfigured

I started this project by investigating the different methods of manipulating a photograph, both physically, such as burning, and in Photoshop to capture an image depicting distortion of an individual. The style of the photographs have an aged quality, which I like as it adds to the appearance of disfigurement.
I was originally inspired by Michal Macku to experiment with different methods of destruction before looking into the manipulation of the human figure due to the demands of society. The image below is one example from a fun photoshoot in which the model had paint on her clothes to reflect the vertical cracks of destruction. I physically destroyed the image multiple times in different ways, such as using a cheese grater, or burying the photograph, before layering them in Photoshop to create the desired effect of an aged image.
