Most museums house a large archive of artifacts, most of which will not be seen by the general public. Many times these artifacts number into the millions. Creating a digital archive is a great way to share these treasures with the general public or for educational use. Offering 3D interactive and annotated models of these artifacts has many benefits. Artifacts can observed without risking damage or the security of the items, a virtual tour is more cost effective than creating physical displays, and museums can augment their records beyond photos and notes.
