WeighIn is a prototype for a digital scale that wirelessly communicates with your smartphone to let you know how much of a certain product or food item you have left. The goal of WeighIn is to allow consumers to keep track of what food they have at home and eliminate overbuying.

This project was ultimately an experiment in physical computing. We used a force sensor to sense pressure on the platforms. That data was sent over to a database via a wifi breakout board. From there the data was pulled to an application where the current weight would be compared to the weight at initilization on the app and a percentage would be created.

My role in the project was to connect the sensors to the database and build the prototype's mobile application.
