Concept Board- inspiration was taken from the desruction of nature, recycling plastic and cardboards, peeling layers of old wallpaper and the painting "Life and Death" by Gustav Klimt which perfectly depicts the life cycle of all living things.
Color Board

Flower Collage - (1 repeat 42x36) For this print, actual dying and dried out flowers were scanned in and collaged with lively and colorful magazine flowers. The juxtaposition of the two makes it seem as though the dying and the photographed are grownig from the same vine.

Skeletal Forest Toile (1 repeat 36x36'') The skeletal structure of leaves were scanned in and used as the basis of the drawings for the animals. Scenes were created with flowers and "landscapes" were made using collected cardboard and paper that were collected from around the city. The landscapes were painted to give them new life.

Peeling Paper - (1 repeat 36x42") Flowers were created using old magazines and paper that had been destroyed by the elements. Magazine paper was also glued down to cardstock and ripped and torn away at to achieve a peeling effect. The pattern is set against a fleur de lis design to create a wallpaper look. Being set against this background, the flowers seem to be growing and taking over the newer looking wallpaper.
